Arsenal Offer New Contract For Aubameyang

Aubameyang and Lacazette
Aubameyang and Lacazette. - Arsenal are reportedly ready to try and resume contract negotiations with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who only has 16 months left at the Emirates Stadium.

Aubameyang decided to postpone the contract extension at the Emirates Stadium because he was eager to play in the Champions League. But Arsenal continue to try to convince the 30-year-old striker, moreover his current contract will expire in the summer of 2021.

And now, the Gunners have shown much improvement with Mikel Arteta and they are only four points adrift of Manchester United in fifth place standings. However, that was not enough to convince Aubameyang to survive in North London.

Arteta said last weekend that he hoped Arsenal could keep Aubameyang after the season ended, he also promised to give everything to the Gabonese striker so he was truly satisfied at the club.

According to Mirror, Arsenal did not want to repeat the situation that had happened to Mesut Ozil. Ozil's contract left only six more months in January 2018, and the club was forced to extend his contract until the summer of 2021 by paying 350,000 pounds a week.

If the Gunners can play in the Champions League next season, they might not need to spend that much anymore to tie Aubameyang to a new agreement.

Barcelona had an interest in Aubameyang last winter but a deal never happened, but the Spanish giant could return in the summer with a new offer with Inter Milan who are also interested in Aubameyang's services.
